Webinar: Demystifying the NHS pension scheme
Exclusive pension and financial webinar.
We are acutely aware of many members’ frustrations following recent changes to the NHS pension scheme. Our October member survey revealed worrying findings which we have raised with Government about the impact of the pensions ‘tax-trap’ on waiting lists. A temporary fix has been mooted by government, but this only applies to the current financial year, so we continue to press for a permanent solution.
In the meantime, we bring to you the opportunity to tune into a free* webinar chaired and panelled by specialist financial advisors Chase de Vere Medical.
Chase de Vere will explain how the pension rules work for surgeons in the NHS Pension Scheme. They offer advice on financial planning for retirement, with the aim of supporting you to retire well and on your own terms.
Please be advised that the content of this webinar and any financial advice subsequently provided is supplied by Chase de Vere Medical. As a College we are not recommending them as a supplier above other potential advisers.
Why tune in?
During the webinar, Chase De Vere say they will help you to better understand:
- The 3 NHS pension schemes and how they work together.
- Changes to the annual allowance, including tapering, and if you are affected.
- How to calculate your ‘adjusted income’ and how this could catch you unaware.
- The lifetime allowance, how it may affect you and how to minimise any impact.
You will also be able to join the discussion by submitting your own questions to the panel at the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
Andrea Sproates (Panel chair): expert on the NHS pension scheme and pension taxation legislation.
Other speakers will be announced soon!
